Production is starting on the sequel to the 2021 action film “Nobody”, which will see Bob Odenkirk reprise his role as Hutch Mansell. Director Timo Tjahjanto, known for the Indonesian thriller “The Night Comes for Us”, has shared the first behind-the-scenes photos from the set on social media.
The original “Nobody” told the story of Hutch Mansell, a seemingly ordinary suburban dad. But when two thieves broke into his home, Hutch’s dormant combat skills were unleashed as he went after the criminals. It was revealed that Hutch actually had a violent past that was full of mysteries. The movie was a critical and box office hit, making over $57 million worldwide against a $16 million budget.

Many key people from the first film are returning. Derek Kolstad, creator of the “John Wick” franchise, is writing the sequel script. Aaron Rabin, known for the TV show “Jack Ryan”, is also co-writing. Umair Aleem, who worked on the movie “Kate”, is involved as well. Actor Bob Odenkirk will again play Hutch Mansell, with Connie Nielsen and Christopher Lloyd also reprising their roles.
Veteran actress Sharon Stone has joined the cast in the role of the main antagonist. However, details about her character and the plot are still being kept secret. Timo Tjahjanto expressed gratitude for getting to direct the sequel in his social media posts sharing behind-the-scenes photos with Odenkirk and producer David Leitch.
Universal Pictures has scheduled “Nobody 2” for an August 15, 2025 release date. This allows plenty of time for the production team, led by director Tjahjanto, to craft another action-packed adventure for fans of the original film.
