Daredevil Actor Charlie Cox Drops Clues About Character’s Future Marvel Adventures

Actor discusses character's journey from Netflix to potential Avengers status, teases exciting developments for Matt Murdock in the MCU

Daredevil: Born Again

Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock in the popular Netflix series Daredevil and recent Marvel films, discussed his character’s expanding role at a recent comics convention. Cox debuted as Daredevil in 2015 and the character became a fan favorite, leading Marvel to include Daredevil in more projects after the Netflix show ended.

When asked which Marvel actors he’d like to work with, Cox was careful not to reveal specifics but said “there’s one particular group of people that I would love the chance to team up with.” Fans believe he may have been referring to joining the Avengers, Marvel’s premiere superhero team. Cox has already appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Echo over the past two years.

Marvel seems to be positioning Daredevil as an important character going forward. Cox will star in the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again and voice the character in the animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man show. During the panel, Cox shared his excitement for Daredevil’s new red and gold costume from She-Hulk, saying when he first saw the design he thought “oh man, that’s so cool.”

Beyond just the costume, Cox expresses interest in Daredevil becoming a full-fledged Avenger. Given Daredevil’s recent prominence across movies and TV, this outcome seems increasingly probable. Cox also said he enjoyed exploring Daredevil’s lighter side, like his brief romantic storyline with Tatiana Maslany’s character She-Hulk, and would be open to working with her again.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues expanding its stories and characters, Charlie Cox and his acclaimed take on Daredevil appear set for an even bigger role. With the upcoming Disney+ series and past cameo appearances, fans look forward to seeing what’s next for the Man Without Fear in the ever-growing Marvel universe.
