In a significant expansion of its blockbuster lineup, The Walt Disney Company has unveiled plans for 11 new untitled films slated for release between 2025 and 2027 across its major studios. The Friday announcement from Disney offered the first details on highly anticipated upcoming projects from Marvel, Pixar, and Disney Animation.

Key among the additions are two untitled Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films set for 2027. Marvel Studios also offered updates for two of its Phase 5 titles – Jon Watts’ Fantastic Four will now debut on July 25, 2025, while Destin Daniel Cretton’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is shifted to May 1, 2026. Although Blade remains dated for November 7, 2025, its status seems uncertain following Bassam Tariq’s departure.

On the animation side, Pixar’s untitled feature will enchant audiences on June 18, 2027, followed by a mystical journey from Disney Animation on November 24, 2027. Sundance award-winner Jesse Eisenberg’s “A Real Pain” moves to November 1, 2024 from its initial fall slot.

Disney’s slate strengthens thanks to box office dominance of properties like Deadpool & Wolverine, which scored the sixth biggest opening of all time. Pixar’s Inside Out 2 dethroned Frozen 2 as the highest-grossing animated film globally. Planet of the Apes also climbed box office charts.

Fans can expect further MCU and animation exclusives to be announced at D23 Expo in August, where Disney will offer the first in-depth looks at its next decade of cinematic storytelling. With enormous expectations for the Walt Disney Company’s future, this news fuels anticipation for the next chapter in global pop culture.
