Epic Games and Disney are collaborating on a Marvel-themed season for Fortnite. Starting August 16, the new “Absolute Doom” season will immerse players in the Marvel universe with iconic characters, abilities, and map locations. Disney unveiled details about the upcoming content at its D23 event over the weekend.

The season’s battle pass features many fan-favorite Marvel heroes and villains as skins. Players can unlock Gwenpool immediately and later acquire skins like War Machine, Emma Frost, Shuri, Mysterio, and a superhero Peely variant. Reaching mid-season unlocks Doctor Doom. Players will also gain access to character-themed powers like Shuri’s claws or War Machine’s weaponry.

While numerous Marvel characters are represented, some notable exclusions for now are the Fantastic Four. This has led some fans to speculate about possible future additions. Popular leakers previously outlined Marvel overhaul plans for the map, along with a dedicated game mode, which remain unconfirmed.

In other crossovers, upcoming Disney villain skins like Cruella DeVille and Maleficent may debut during Fortnitemares in October. A first collaboration with Pixar will introduce “The Incredibles” content. Additionally, Star Wars fans can obtain IG-11 and Moff Gideon starting August 12. Those who missed past Mandalorian cosmetics have another chance at Grogu.

Rumors suggest the Marvel season will integrate with LEGO Fortnite through a datamined Gwenpool toy skin. Fortnitemares is also expected to coincide with the season and could feature a Jason Voorhees crossover.

Fortnite continues expanding its universe through ambitious seasons fusing beloved franchises. “Absolute Doom” promises exciting adventures and surprises engaging players through the fall season.
