As Baldur’s Gate 3 celebrates its first anniversary, acclaimed RPG developer Larian Studios is staking new ground with expansive initiatives that push creative boundaries. From a community-focused YouTube channel to two highly ambitious new games, the independent studio is leveraging its recent success to continually evolve the genre.

The critically-acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3 has thrilled fans and revitalized the classic Dungeons & Dragons franchise since its launch last year. With a passionate following playing through its intricate storyline and gameplay systems, the game continues to thrive. Now, Larian is investing in new avenues of engaging this devoted community through exclusive digital experiences.

Dubbed “The Channel from Hell,” Larian’s newly unveiled YouTube channel aims to provide one such interactive platform. According to CEO Swen Vincke, it will feature “regular and never-before-seen videos arriving this summer” spotlighting user mods, community highlights, and more. Meanwhile, the indie powerhouse is charging ahead on two “very ambitious” RPG projects in development with a new Warsaw studio to support around-the-clock work.

Vincke emphasizes independence and innovation, ideals core to Larian’s achievement with Baldur’s Gate 3. “We don’t want to limit our scope or control the creative process,” he tells PC Gamer of the new games’ grand visions. This spirit of liberation suffuses the studio as it transitions, with morale high “to be doing new stuff.” Fans eagerly anticipate Larian’s next acts as the pioneering studio once more pushes imaginary frontiers.
