Several recent announcements show how entertainment companies are strengthening their content. Acclaimed British actor Jason Watkins will star in a new thriller series for Channel 5 called “Catch You Later.” Meanwhile, French media group Mediawan is diversifying through new executive hires. Turkish drama “A Journey to Belong” also found international distribution.

In “Catch You Later,” Watkins will play a retired detective named Huw Miller. The character tries to enjoy retirement after failing to solve a stalking case years ago. But when his new neighbor says something that reminds him of the stalker, Miller decides to reopen the investigation. Watkins said he’s excited for another thriller on Channel 5 after the success of his previous series “Coma” on the network. Clapperboard Studios will produce “Catch You Later” with distribution by Sphere Abacus.

Mediawan, a major French media company, made two key appointments recently. Pablo Nakhlé Cerruti will expand the firm’s offerings by exploring podcasts, branded stories, and interactive experiences using Mediawan properties. Caroline Le Masne was named general counsel of Plan B, which Mediawan owns. These hires align with the company’s goal to grow and try new areas, including its work with LeBron James’s SpringHill entertainment brand.

In Turkey, daily drama series “A Journey to Belong” found international sales through Eccho Rights. The show tells the story of a woman whose life changes when a young mother arrives with a child claiming she must now live with them. Handan Özkubat of Eccho Rights believes the multigenerational family drama will captivate viewers globally each day. As the industry adapts, these updates point to ongoing demand for engaging content in various formats across different markets.
