Searchlight Pictures Greenlights ‘Ready or Not 2’ with Original Team Returning

Horror-comedy sequel set to reunite creative team behind 2019 cult favorite

Ready Or Not 2

Searchlight Pictures has announced plans to make a sequel to the 2019 horror-comedy film “Ready or Not.” The announcement came during an event celebrating the studio’s 30th anniversary, where the directors and cast shared details about the upcoming project. “Ready or Not” told the story of a bride joining her wealthy husband’s strange family tradition, and received positive reviews for combining dark humor with suspenseful scenes.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will return to direct the sequel. They previously directed “Ready or Not” and went on to helm popular horror movies like last year’s “Scream” reboot. Samara Weaving also agreed to reprise her lead role as Grace, the bride from the first movie. In an interview, Weaving said she was eager to revisit the twisted world of the Le Domas family.

Searchlight Pictures is putting together an experienced production team including the original producers and executives who oversaw the first film. No release date has been set yet, but fans are excited to see how the directors expand on the strange family and social satire introduced in “Ready or Not.” The studios’ anniversary event highlighted its commitment to original films across genres. As production gets underway, observers will monitor details about the sequel’s plot and cast.
