The hit psychological thriller series “Severance” will return for its highly anticipated second season on Apple TV+ starting January 17, 2025. The show will continue to release new episodes each Friday through March 21 for a total of ten episodes.
The drama centers around employees at Lumon Industries who undergo a procedure called “severance” that separates their work memories from personal lives. Season 2 will further explore the consequences of severing work and personal identities. According to officials, characters will face deeper challenges as the story intensifies.
Adam Scott returns as lead character Mark Scout, heading an ensemble cast. Patricia Arquette, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken also reprise roles. Sarah Bock becomes a series regular in Season 2 along with new additions Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat, and Bob Balaban.
Creative leaders behind the show remain involved. Ben Stiller continues as executive producer and director, helming five episodes. He shares directing duties with Uta Bresiewitz, Sam Donovan, and Jessica Lee Gagné. Series creator Dan Erickson returns as writer and executive producer. Scott and Arquette also serve as executive producers along with a sizable creative team.
In its debut season, “Severance” earned widespread acclaim including 14 Emmy nominations. Nominations recognized the drama series, Stiller’s direction, and lead performances by Scott and Arquette.
Fans can catch up on Season 1 now to prepare for the complex plotlines of Season 2 launching in early 2025 exclusively on Apple TV+.
