First Look at Anya Taylor-Joy in Apple TV+ Crime Series ‘Lucky’

The limited series, based on Marissa Stapley’s novel, follows a woman forced back into a world she thought she had escaped.

Apple TV+ has released the first images from Lucky, a limited series starring and executive produced by Anya Taylor-Joy. Based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, the series follows a woman who left behind a life of crime but is forced to return to it in a final attempt to break free from her past.

The cast includes Drew Starkey, Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Timothy Olyphant. The series is produced in collaboration with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and co-showrun by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas.

Production began in Las Vegas before shifting to Los Angeles, where Lucky secured a $10.6 million California tax credit as an untitled Apple Studios project. The effort to bring more productions to Los Angeles has gained momentum following the January wildfires.

Taylor-Joy, known for roles in The Queen’s Gambit, The Northman, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, continues to take on projects across multiple genres.
