Allu Arjun has confirmed a new film with director Atlee and production house Sun Pictures. The announcement, made on Arjun’s 43rd birthday, revealed that the project—referred to for now as AA22xA6—will begin filming this month.

The collaboration follows the success of Pushpa 2, which brought in more than $210 million worldwide. The film will be Arjun’s first with both Atlee and Sun Pictures, which is led by Kalanithi Maran of the Sun Group.

An announcement video was released along with the news. It includes footage of pre-production activity and shows Arjun undergoing 3D scanning. The film will involve visual effects work on a significant scale, with contributions from companies such as Lola VFX. The video includes commentary from artists who described the script as technically complex and visually driven.

Arjun and Atlee were recently in Los Angeles meeting with effects studios. The team has been preparing the film’s visual framework in advance of the shoot, which will take place across multiple locations in India and the United States.

Director Atlee said the screenplay has been in development for years. “This is the film I’ve always dreamed of making,” he said. “It’s taken years of quiet work to shape the screenplay into something I truly believe in. To now bring it to life with the Icon Star Allu Arjun Sir, under the visionary leadership of Kalanithi Maran Sir at Sun Pictures, is nothing short of a dream come true.”

The storyline is expected to include supernatural and non-human elements. While plot details remain undisclosed, the production is described as a large-scale theatrical project intended for domestic and international audiences.

Arjun posted about the film on social media, writing: “Magic with mass & a world beyond imagination! #AA22. Teaming up with @Atlee_dir garu for something truly spectacular with the unparalleled support of @sunpictures.”

Atlee’s previous films include Theri, Mersal, and Bigil. His most recent feature, Jawan, starred Shah Rukh Khan and earned over $135 million globally. His work is known for strong theatrical performance across languages and markets.

Sun Pictures issued a statement emphasizing the collaboration. “With a grand vision from the mass storyteller Atlee and iconic Allu Arjun, whose box-office dominance is breaking all barriers, this collaboration with Sun Pictures promises to be nothing short of pure magic. This is a project where the best in the industry have come together, and we are confident it will set new standards,” the statement read.

Casting details, release timeline, and the film’s final title are expected to be announced in the coming months.
