James Marsden has joined the cast of Your Friends & Neighbors for its second season on Apple TV+. He will appear as a series regular, working alongside Jon Hamm, Amanda Peet, and Olivia Munn. Production on the new season is currently underway.
The series, created by Jonathan Tropper, centers on Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager recently fired in disgrace. After his divorce, Coop begins stealing from the homes of his neighbors in Westmont Village, a wealthy and tightly controlled community. The thefts lead him to uncover secrets that change his understanding of those living around him.
Marsden is expected to play a character with family wealth who has a relationship with Munn’s character, Samantha. The role spans the full season.
Returning cast members include Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt, and Donovan Colan.
Tropper serves as showrunner and executive producer through Tropper Ink. Apple Studios produces the series. Hamm is an executive producer, joined by Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie. Jamie Rosengard, Lori Keith Douglas, and Stephanie Laing also executive produce. Laing will direct episodes in the upcoming season.
Marsden is currently filming Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release in May 2026. He recently completed work on Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, a 20th Century Studios feature with Vince Vaughn. His television credits include Jury Duty, which earned him an Emmy nomination, as well as roles in Westworld, Dead to Me, 30 Rock, and Hulu’s Paradise, which is in production for its second season. He also reprises his role as Tom in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Marsden is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Apple TV+ renewed Your Friends & Neighbors in December 2024, ahead of the series premiere on April 11.
