Daniel Ings has joined the cast of Kill Jackie (working title), a new eight-part thriller series currently in production for Prime Video. The show is adapted from Nick Harkaway’s novel The Price You Pay and stars Catherine Zeta-Jones in the lead role of Jackie Price.

Ings will portray Sam, Jackie’s longtime attorney and someone she has quietly admired for years. Described as composed and meticulous, Sam is part of Jackie’s carefully constructed post-criminal life—one that begins to unravel when a threat from her past resurfaces.

Zeta-Jones plays Jackie Price, a former international cocaine dealer who has spent two decades operating under the radar. She now lives in comfort, traveling the world while selling fine art through complex tax structures. Her quiet existence is interrupted when she discovers that a contract has been put out on her life. A group known as The Seven Demons—an elite team of hired killers—has been sent to track her down. Convinced someone from her past is responsible, Jackie decides to respond before they can reach her.

The role reverses the gender of the main character from Harkaway’s original novel. The television adaptation was developed by writer and showrunner Tom Butterworth, known for Gangs of London, along with Conor Keane, who also serves as an associate producer. Butterworth and Keane co-wrote the series.

Damon Thomas (Killing Eve) is directing the first block and serves as lead director. Dawn Shadforth (I Hate Suzie) directs the second block. The series is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures. José Luis Escolar’s Deabru Kalea Filmeak is overseeing production on location in Bizkaia, Spain.

In addition to Zeta-Jones and Ings, the ensemble cast includes Sidse Babett Knudsen, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Karlis Arnolds Avots, Set Sjöstrand, Tadashi Ito, Sebastian Armesto, Julian Barratt, Gavin Spokes, Jonathan Cake, Bamshad Abedi-Amin, and Bill Paterson.

Executive producers include Zeta-Jones, Peter Lawson and Jose Augustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures, Dante Di Loreto, Tom Butterworth, Damon Thomas, and Jeffrey Levine.

The series will be released in 2026 on Prime Video across the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada. Fremantle will manage distribution in all remaining territories except the United States, where rights are handled by Steel Springs Pictures.

Ings is known for roles in The Gentlemen, Lovesick, and I Hate Suzie. He is represented by United Agents in the U.K. and ColorCreative in the U.S., with legal representation from Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
