The Xiaomi Car is a self-driving vehicle that the Chinese company is working on. For this purpose, the company plans to spend a total of up to $10 billion over a decade.
The first outcome of this work is scheduled to come out next month. The prototype of the Xiaomi Car will be shown in August, and it is the result of a collaboration established with HVST Automobile Design.
With Xiaomi being one of China’s industry giants, the company announced some time ago that it was planning to enter the automotive market as well. A new division has been set up for this purpose and plans to spend as much as $10 billion over the next ten years.
The Xiaomi Car in prototype form will be unveiled next month. This car was developed in cooperation with HVST Automobile Design, the company responsible for, among other things, the Maven concept vehicle from WM Motor. We will have to wait until August for details, however.
The exact plans Xiaomi has for the automotive market are unknown. We do know that the first vehicles are expected to leave production lines from 2024, and that this is to take place in Yizhuang, where a large research and development center is also being built.
