Christopher Paolini’s dream for fans of his works is likely to come true, as reports have surfaced online that the Legacy book series will be filmed and hit Disney+.

It would be the perfect opportunity to fix the unfortunate failure of the 2006 film Eragon. The books’ author will serve as co-writer and co-producer in the TV series production, as reported by Screen Rant.

The executive producer, meanwhile, is to be Bert Salke, who is now working with Disney on Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

For now it is not known who will be in charge of filming the adventures of young Eragon. But one must admit that this is a book series that, notwithstanding its flaws and simplicity, is highly suitable for transfer to the silver screen. The series formula will allow a better way to show the themes that appeared in Legacy.

What is the story of Eragon about?

Let’s remind that the story of the series written by Christopher Paolini revolves around the character of Eragon, who discovers a dragon egg. When the dragon hatches, the boy then becomes the first Dragon Rider in many years and is caught up in a battle with King Galbatorix, who, together with his servants, rules Alagaësia.

Fans have thus gotten their first news about the project based on their favorite book series. It was 16 years ago that Eragon premiered, but fans of Paolini’s work preferred to forget about this film.

This is because it met with a negative reception among both fans and reviewers, which made the creators abandon the screen adaptation of the next parts of the books.
