“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” Official Trailer Released

Sony Pictures finally showed a full-fledged trailer for the animated movie “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”. The protagonist, Miles Morales, will this time embark on a journey to alternate universes. The release will take place on June 2, 2023.

Production is a direct sequel to the warmly received 2018 Oscar-winning animation “Spider-Man Universe.” In this new installment, Morales meets – familiar from the first part – Gwen Stacy and together they begin a journey through the Multiverse.

They encounter other incarnations of Spider-Man, who on a daily basis are engaged in protecting the order of other parallel worlds.

At one point, it turns out that the heroes in the face of a new threat will have to compete with other Spiders, with Morales once again taking up the fight, at stake of which are his loved ones and humanity.

Among others, his opponents will be Spot, the antagonist known from Marvel comics. The footage released impresses especially with its visuals and sound design. In turn, the positive comments under the trailer indicate that viewers are looking forward to the screening.

The movie will feature such characters as Spider-Man 2099 (played by Oscar Isaac), Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya) and Spider-Woman (Issa Rae).

Peter Benjamin Parker (Jake Johnson) will also return. The casting of the main roles has not changed, so we’ll once again hear the voice of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy.

It’ worth noting that in the trailer we also see the version of Spider-Man known from the PlayStation games from Insomniac Games.

Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson directed the project, with Dave Callaham and Phil Lord writing the script.

Curiously, in 2024 we are expected to receive the next part of the series under the title “Spider Man: beyond the Spider Verse,” about which little is known so far.
