Sons of the Forest Impresses With New Gameplay and News

The Sons of the Forest is an upcoming sequel to the successful survival game The Forest. A pretty long gameplay video with commentary has appeared online, heralding a great adventure for survival and horror fans.

Just as in the previous installment, gamers finds themselves in a location cut off from the world, the greater part of which is occupied by a forest.

Your task is to survive as long as possible, which is made effectively difficult by the need to take care of basic needs, and hostile cannibals and other monsters.

IGN had a chance to spend five hours with Sons of the Forest, and, in the opinion of the site’s journalist, the game “may revolutionize the survivalist genre.”

Most impressive were the realistic graphics, which could stand up to AAA titles, artificial intelligence of enemies and a companion-NPC named Kelvin.

The AI-directed companion is a novelty. Already in “One” you could play solo, but now this will be made easier. With a convenient menu, a companion can be given commands, for example, collecting a specific resource.

Developers say that Kelvin, seen in the material, is only one of the friendly NPCs that can help the player – you have to find the rest.

The construction system has also evolved. One can still construct predefined structures, but there’s also the possibility to build from small particles of materials, a little like in Minecraft.

Following the postponed release, Sons of the Forest will make its debut on February 23 – for now only on PC. Watch the video above and let us know what you think about the game in the comments section below.
