The Day Before: Extensive Gameplay Video Wants To Counter Scam Accusations

Gameplay video with empty streets and few zombies.

After a bit of a delay, developer Fntastic has finally released a comprehensive gameplay video for The Day Before. Unfortunately, the response has not been overwhelmingly positive.

The developer has faced numerous accusations of scams, especially after the recent postponement due to trademark issues. This gameplay video was meant to show that The Day Before is indeed a real game, but it seems to have fallen short of players’ expectations.

In the ten-minute video, we see two players exploring a post-apocalyptic world that is eerily empty. The desolate streets and abandoned buildings paint a picture of a city that has been quickly abandoned, but there are very few signs of the life-threatening zombies that we expect to see in a survival game.

Despite ticking all the boxes of a typical survival game – searching for resources, customizing weapons, and shooting a few zombies – the gameplay material seems somewhat aimless and the zombies don’t come across as particularly dangerous.

This lack of excitement has led to widespread disappointment among players, with many referring to The Day Before as a “Walking Simulator”.

Speculation continues to swirl around The Day Before, with many players still questioning whether it’s a scam. In response, the developers released a second video to prove that the game is indeed being played. The 40-second clip shows one person playing the game and a different player character, but despite these efforts, many players remain skeptical.

The Day Before was one of the most highly anticipated games on Steam until recently, but now it seems that disillusionment is spreading. With the release scheduled for early November 2023, the developers have some time to continue working on the game and try to regain the trust of their fans.
