Debut Trailer Unveiled for the Gran Turismo Film

A Cinematic Journey into the World of Real Driving Simulation

Gran Turismo

The highly anticipated movie adaptation of the beloved racing game series, Gran Turismo, brings to life the tale of a devoted video game enthusiast who enters a competition and ultimately transforms into a professional race car driver.

Intriguingly, this narrative is inspired by the real-life events of Jann Mardenborough, who triumphed in the GT Academy back in 2011.

Acclaimed director Neill Blomkamp, known for his work on District 9, Elysium, and Chappie, has helmed the project.

The star-studded cast includes the likes of Orlando Bloom (The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean), David Harbour (Stranger Things, Black Mass), Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, Gladiator), and Spice Girl Geri Halliwell.

In a recent interview featured on the PlayStation Blog, Blomkamp revealed that fans of the popular Polyphony Digital game can look forward to various subtle nods and easter eggs scattered throughout the movie.

However, he also clarified that the film focuses more on the world surrounding the game rather than the game itself.

Audiences all over the world can mark their calendars for the Gran Turismo film’s release on August 11th as the movie will be coming to cinemas.
