In a single night in 1979, Danny Sullivan (portrayed by Tom Holland) finds himself arrested and accused of murder. Journalist Rya Goodwin (played by Amanda Seyfried) takes it upon herself to conduct multiple interviews with the young man to uncover the truth behind the chilling events.

The series’ script is based on Daniel Keyes’ book “The Minds of Billy Milligan.” Keyes’ book recounts the real-life case of William Milligan, who was acquitted due to dissociative identity disorder. Milligan was believed to have 24 distinct and independent personalities.
