Tango Gameworks' action-adventure game gains traction as it becomes available on Microsoft and Sony subscription services.

Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks have announced via Twitter that Ghostwire: Tokyo has now reached an impressive four million players worldwide. The game, developed by the creators of The Evil Within and Hi-Fi Rush, was initially launched for PS5 and PC in March 2022.

By April 12, the game was released on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC Game Pass, as well as being included in the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog.

The Spider’s Thread Update

Ghostwire: Tokyo

To coincide with the Microsoft console release, Ghostwire: Tokyo received a free update called The Spider’s Thread across all platforms.

This update added a wealth of new content, including a roguelite mode featuring 30 combat challenges and new enemies, culminating in a new final boss encounter.

Additional content includes a new high school location with various side quests, new abilities, and expanded main story cinematics.

Dynamic Background for Xbox Series

Shortly after the announcement of the increased player count, Ghostwire: Tokyo’s official Twitter account revealed a free dynamic background for Xbox Series X/S players.

The background can be found within the console’s menu by navigating to the configuration options, selecting the personalization section, and choosing “My background.”

In the “Dynamic Backgrounds” section, players can find this background as well as others from recent games like Redfall and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

In related news, Microsoft has begun testing a new console menu, available to select players participating in the Insider Program.

The new interface resembles the current one but features smaller program icons, allowing for more visually appealing backgrounds. Additionally, the update includes changes designed to make navigating the game library more intuitive and user-friendly.
