Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard remains uncertain, with the CMA blocking the purchase a few weeks ago.

While the Xbox company hopes for the European Commission’s approval to overcome this challenging situation, other industry players are closely monitoring the developments. However, Electronic Arts (EA) appears unfazed by the potential acquisition.

EA’s Confidence in Their Partnership with Microsoft

During a Q&A session on EA’s latest earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson was asked about his thoughts on the possible implications of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard for the gaming industry.

Wilson acknowledged that he often faces this question and admitted that he is uncertain about the outcome of the purchase.

Nevertheless, he expressed confidence that it would not significantly impact EA, as the company is “Microsoft’s largest partner” and the “number one publisher on its platform.”

Wilson’s faith in EA’s intellectual property library and the talent of its studios leads him to believe that the company will continue to shape the future of entertainment and remain competitive in the market, irrespective of whether the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal goes through.
