According to Variety, the horror sequel, made with an estimated $16 million, exceeded predictions by raking in a whopping $32.6 million in North American theaters over the course of its first three days.
The film’s exceptional performance also outshined the much-anticipated Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The latter experienced a significant drop of 56% in attendance from its $60 million opening weekend, collecting $26.5 million.
Comparatively, the Harrison Ford-led adventure carried a production budget of $300 million. Despite this, the Disney film has amassed an impressive $247.9 million in ticket sales worldwide thus far.
Internationally, Insidious: The Red Door proved to be a horror sensation, generating $31.4 million at the international box office. This remarkable figure marks the largest overseas opening for a horror movie since early 2020.

Insidious: The Red Door is set nine years after the events of Insidious: Chapter 2. The movie follows the journey of Josh (played by Patrick Wilson, who also directed the film) and his son Dalton (portrayed by Ty Simpkins) as they strive to reconnect with their past and each other amidst a relentless onslaught of terrifying visions.
