As one of the most iconic shooting games in history, Call of Duty boasts an astonishing 70 million daily users.
Call of Duty Triumphs Over Roblox in Daily Users
Bobby Kotick shared this staggering statistic during his testimony on the fourth day of the evidentiary hearing. The remarkable number of daily users places Call of Duty above renowned titles such as Roblox.
Notably, the mobile version of the game, Call of Duty: Mobile, has significantly contributed to this achievement. Generating over $1.5 billion in revenue for the company, the mobile version has successfully attracted a substantial portion of the user base.
Platform Distribution of Call of Duty Users
Bobby Kotick further provided detailed insights into the distribution of Call of Duty users across different platforms. According to his testimony, 51% of Call of Duty players enjoy the game on mobile devices.
Following this, he revealed that approximately 25% of users play on PC, while 15-16% play on PlayStation, and 7-8% on Xbox. Based on this information, the total number of mobile players amounts to a staggering 35.7 million.
Monthly Player Statistics
Activision’s first-quarter earnings report for 2023 also shed light on the number of monthly Call of Duty players, which reached an impressive 98 million. Taking into account the platform distribution provided by Kotick, the monthly user count on different platforms would look as follows:
- Mobile: 49.98 million
- PC: 24.5 million
- PlayStation: 15.68 million
- Xbox: 7.84 million
Analyzing the numbers, gaming analysts at TweakTown have made an additional calculation regarding the monthly Call of Duty players on PlayStation. Sony, during the fourth quarter of 2022, reported a total of 108 million monthly users on the platform.
Considering the 15.68 million monthly users for Call of Duty on PlayStation, it becomes evident that the franchise captures 14.5% of the total number of active users on the platform every month.
