PvP Reward Disabled: Diablo 4 Hotfix Removes Hatred’s Chosen Buff

A new hotfix in Diablo 4 has disabled the highly sought-after Hatred's Chosen buff, leaving PvP players without their greatest prize for now.

A Diablo 4 hotfix, recently rolled out by Blizzard, has caused a temporary setback for PvP enthusiasts in the popular RPG game. The hotfix has effectively disabled one of the most valuable farming tools, the Hatred’s Chosen buff, leaving players in the Fields of Hatred without their greatest prize.

For those who enjoy battling it out in the Fields of Hatred PvP zone, there is one ultimate achievement that stands above all others. Being crowned Hatred’s Chosen requires players to accumulate an impressive body count, skillfully defeating opponents with their carefully crafted Diablo 4 builds, and proving themselves as the greatest warriors on the server.

Reaping the Rewards

The rewards for achieving this prestigious title are plentiful. Once bestowed with the title of Hatred’s Chosen, your position will be marked on everyone’s map for a duration of five minutes. This means that the entire population will know exactly where you are, with tempting rewards up for grabs for any player who can bring an end to your reign.

Moreover, while in this heightened state, you will earn Seeds of Hatred, the PvP currency, with each successful hit. Surviving until the end of the five-minute mark will automatically convert your hard-earned Seeds into valuable rewards.

Temporary Removal of Hatred’s Chosen Buff

Regrettably, this highly effective method of earning PvP rewards has been temporarily disabled. In a post on the official Diablo forums, Adam ‘PezRadar’ Fletcher, the community manager, confirms, “The team has identified an issue in PvP where we are needing to disable the Hatred’s Chosen power in Fields of Hatred.”

Although you will still receive the UI pop-up when meeting the requirements for Hatred’s Chosen, the buff will no longer be displayed above your skill bar, and you will no longer receive the on-hit Seeds of Hatred rewards. Fletcher assures the community that the team is actively working on a fix, which will be included in an upcoming update. He promises to update the community as soon as the fix is implemented.

Exploring Other Farming Options

In the meantime, players need not fret, as there are numerous alternative ways to engage in farming activities within Diablo 4’s endgame. Moreover, for those determined to assert their dominance over other players, the remaining aspects of the Fields of Hatred should still function as usual. There is no need to abandon your devilish practices altogether.

However, players should exercise caution when traversing the Fields of Hatred in hardcore mode. Losing all progress so close to the Diablo 4 season 1 start date would be a devastating blow. After all, accumulating renown will provide a significant advantage in progressing through the Diablo 4 battle pass during the first season.
