Starfield Modding Community Gets Official Support in 2024

Starfield fans eagerly anticipate official mod support in 2024

Starfield

Ever since its release, fans of Starfield have been quick to tweak, modify, and play around with the game. From comical tweaks to noteworthy enhancements, the Starfield modding community has been thriving.

But a bit of patience is still needed. Todd Howard, the game director at Bethesda Game Studios, has given gamers a timeline. He says that while mods are fun and already widespread, they’ll get the official stamp of approval next year.

Howard’s Assurance

When Famitsu, a popular gaming magazine, quizzed Howard on the modding spree in Starfield, he confirmed Bethesda’s plans for the coming year. “As soon as these mods are perfected, they’ll be as expansive as ever. Like our past games, almost anything will be possible. And we’re not just going to do it – we’ll go big. We’re as excited about it as the fans,” expressed Howard.

This isn’t new for Bethesda. Remember Fallout 4? The game got its official mod support a year after it was out. So, the pattern continues with Starfield.

A Nod to the Modders

Bethesda has always acknowledged the modding community. Howard mentioned in 2021 about their consistent plans, emphasizing that every game they release will “always have thorough mod support.” He added, “Our modders have been our partners for two decades. We admire their creativity and even see some of them making it their profession.”

Bethesda’s words aren’t empty. They’ve recently on-boarded a modder who had previously worked on enhancing Skyrim and Fallout. This talented individual is now refining Starfield’s in-game details and lighting. Rumor has it, more from the modding community might soon join the official Starfield team.
