In the world of gaming, one of the much-anticipated releases, “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name,” is set to make its debut next month. However, there’s a notable twist for fans of English voiceovers – the game will not include an English dub at its initial launch. Instead, players can expect an English dub to be introduced as part of a post-launch patch.
This detail came to light via a tweet from Kiryu’s English voice actor, Yong Yea. In his tweet, Yea acknowledged that the English dub would follow the game’s release, writing, “Hope you’ll look forward to it.” This is a crucial piece of information for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the game’s arrival.
Upon its launch, “Like a Dragon Gaiden” will offer gameplay exclusively in Japanese with English subtitles. As of now, there isn’t a specific release date for the English dub patch, but fans can rest assured that it’s on the horizon. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
“Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name” is a part of the Yakuza series, following the journey of the former gangster Kiryu Kazuma, bridging the narrative gap between the events of “Yakuza 6: The Song of Life” and “Like a Dragon 8.” The game is scheduled to launch on November 9th, 2023, and will be accessible on PC, PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
As an additional incentive for players, earlier this year, Sega confirmed that purchasing “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name” will also grant access to a “special trial version” of the forthcoming eighth installment in the RGG Yakuza series, titled “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.”
