Setting Sail Again: Skull and Bones Targets February 2024 Launch

Ubisoft's Pirate Adventure Game, After a Decade of Development, Sets Course for a February Release.

Ubisoft’s long-awaited pirate adventure, “Skull and Bones“, is charting a course for a new release date, aiming to drop anchor on 16th February 2024. This news follows a series of delays that have pushed the game’s launch further and further from its original 2018 schedule.

The journey of “Skull and Bones” began over a decade ago, in 2013, and has since navigated through tumultuous waters. Planned initially for a release five years ago, the game has faced numerous setbacks, leading to its most recent delay announced in October.

These postponements have shifted its release to the fourth quarter of Ubisoft’s current fiscal year, placing it within the January-March 2024 timeframe.

Insider Gaming, a source known for its accurate Ubisoft-related leaks, has pinpointed the new release date to mid-February 2024. Ubisoft is expected to confirm this date soon, potentially during December’s The Game Awards.

A Premium Experience on the Horizon

For eager fans, Ubisoft is offering a £49.99 edition of “Skull and Bones” available for pre-order, accompanied by a more lavish Premium Edition. This pricier version, estimated to cost an additional £15-20, includes the luxury of three days of early access – a small solace for those who have waited a decade.

“Skull and Bones” will be launched alongside a robust lineup from Ubisoft in the first quarter of 2024. This includes “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown,” and several free-to-play titles like “Rainbow Six Mobile,” “The Division Resurgence,” and “XDefiant.” A notable omission from this period is the much-anticipated “Star Wars: Outlaws” by Massive Entertainment, now pushed to the next fiscal year.

In Closing: Calmer Seas Ahead

Skull & Bones

The saga of “Skull and Bones” is more than a tale of development and delays; it’s a testament to Ubisoft’s commitment to perfecting their vision. As the game nears its long-awaited debut, the gaming community looks forward to setting sail in this expansive pirate adventure, hopeful that the final product will be worth the lengthy wait.
