The latest patch for “The Finals,” version 1.4.0, released by Embark Studios, arrives just in time for the holiday season, bringing a plethora of changes and festive elements to the popular free-to-play Steam game.
This patch, also known as The Finals patch 5, is not just a routine update but a significant overhaul that addresses balance issues, enhances anti-cheat measures, and introduces a holiday-themed revamp of the game’s Monaco map.
One of the most notable changes in patch 1.4.0 is the nerfing of the heavy build class. This adjustment was highly anticipated by the gaming community, as the heavy class had been regarded as overly dominant in gameplay.

Medium build players are not left out in this update. They now have access to a more cost-effective use of their Recon Senses ability. However, this advantage comes with a trade-off: arming times have been added to their various mine options, adding a strategic layer to their gameplay.

These include an extended range for their Stun Gun and minor damage increases to both the LH1 marksman rifle and the M11 machine pistol. These adjustments are expected to make light builds more formidable and versatile on the battlefield.

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Monaco map has undergone a festive transformation. Players will now find themselves in a snowy environment, with the map’s halls decked in holiday decor, adding a cheerful touch to the gaming experience.
