As the story progresses, Pecharunt’s unique ability to create Mochi begins to take a dark turn. The Pokémon uses this power to manipulate the couple’s minds, intensifying their affection for it to the point of obsession. This manipulation spirals into greed, as the couple, now under Pecharunt’s influence, demands more and more from their adopted Pokémon.
The couple’s insatiable greed leads them to desire a set of particular masks, key elements in the game’s lore. To fulfill this quest, Pecharunt enlists the help of three retainers, dubbed “The Loyal Three,” using its Mochi to control them. Their journey takes them to Kitakami, where they encounter Ogerpon and its master, the guardians of the masks.
