Fans of the co-op shooter Helldivers 2 have run into a frustrating issue with one of the game’s newly introduced Ship Module upgrades. According to reports, the “Superior Packing Methodology” upgrade, a high-tier item that costs players a significant amount of resources, is currently not functioning as intended.
The problem, as outlined by the game’s community managers, is that the upgrade is not properly refilling support weapon magazines when players resupply. This is a key intended feature of the module, which is supposed to provide improved logistics training for the player’s crew.
Responding to player complaints, the Helldivers 2 team has acknowledged the bug and confirmed they are “investigating a fix” for the issue. In the meantime, the developers have suggested a temporary workaround – simply restarting the game.
“Some of you have reported that the Ship Module upgrade Superior Packing Methodology isn’t working properly after being purchased,” explained community manager Twinbeard in the game’s official Discord channel. “Arrowhead is investigating the issue and looking into a permanent fix.”
This is not the only problem Helldivers 2 players have faced in recent weeks. The game’s latest Warbond update also introduced an issue with the CE-27 Ground Breaker armor, which launched with the wrong passive bonus attached. Arrowhead has said they plan to release a hotfix to correct this, but have not provided a timeline for when that might arrive.
Despite these technical hiccups, Helldivers 2 continues to demonstrate strong sales performance. The game was recently reported to be the top-selling title in the UK, outselling even newer releases like Dragon’s Dogma 2. This suggests the loyal Helldivers fanbase remains engaged and committed to the franchise, even as the developers work to iron out the wrinkles.
Arrowhead Studios has proven responsive to player feedback and dedicated to supporting Helldivers 2 with updates. Fans will be hoping the team can quickly resolve the current batch of bugs, ensuring the game’s prized new upgrades function as intended and don’t leave players feeling shortchanged.
