Pale Rider Rides Into Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse joins the demonic roster in the enhanced re-release.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

As Atlus continues its rollout of daily demon reveals for the highly anticipated Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the latest spotlight shines on the ominous Pale Rider, the fourth and final Horseman of the Apocalypse according to Christian scripture.

Pale Rider, a powerful Fiend-race demon, has been a recurring presence in both the Megami Tensei and Persona series, making appearances in almost every major installment. In Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, an enhanced re-release of the acclaimed 2021 RPG, Pale Rider will be available for players to recruit and fuse into their party, provided they can defeat it in battle first.

For those unfamiliar with the lore, the Pale Rider is described as bringing Hades (Hell) wherever it rides, symbolizing death and bearing a scythe as its weapon. Unlike the other three Horsemen, the Pale Rider has also been mentioned in texts surrounding the Day of Judgement, where it is said that God himself will cast Death, along with the devil and his followers, into the Lake of Fire for eternity.

While Pale Rider was previously available as part of the Return of the True Demon DLC pack for the original Shin Megami Tensei V, the re-release will include this DLC content as part of the base game, allowing players to add this fearsome entity to their demonic roster from the outset.

As Atlus continues to showcase the new and returning demons in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, fans eagerly await the chance to experience the acclaimed RPG’s dark and challenging world, enhanced with new content and quality-of-life improvements.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch on June 14, 2024, offering players a fresh opportunity to immerse themselves in the game’s post-apocalyptic Tokyo and forge allegiances with the myriad demons that roam its desolate landscape.
