V Rising Arises: The Official Launch and Server Updates

Stunlock Studios announces server maintenance, save wipes, and new difficulty settings as V Rising prepares for its highly anticipated official launch.

After nearly two years of successful early access and garnering over 4 million sales, Stunlock Studios’ vampire survival game, V Rising, is finally ready to spread its wings and embrace the night in its official 1.0 release. However, before the highly anticipated launch, the developers have announced a few crucial changes and preparations that players should be aware of.

Server Maintenance and Save Wipes: In anticipation of the official launch, V Rising’s official servers will undergo a period of maintenance, taking the game offline for two days. The pre-release maintenance will commence on Monday, May 6, at 05:30 PDT / 08:30 EST / 13:30 BST / 14:30 CEST, and continue until Wednesday, May 8. During this time, player-run servers will remain unaffected, allowing fans to continue their vampire adventures. However, upon the game’s official launch, all saves on the official servers will be wiped, requiring players to start fresh.

New Difficulty Settings

One of the most significant additions in V Rising’s official launch is the introduction of difficulty settings. Players will now have the option to choose from three distinct modes, each offering a unique gameplay experience:

  1. Relaxed Mode: A more forgiving experience for those new to the world of Vardoran. The Sun will deal less damage, blood will drain slower, enemies will deal reduced damage, and V Blood bosses will have less health.
  2. Normal Mode: The standard gameplay experience that players have enjoyed during the early access period, ensuring a seamless transition for those who prefer the existing difficulty level.
  3. Brutal Mode: A true test of skill and perseverance for veteran players. This mode will feature new abilities for V Blood bosses, increased health and damage output for enemies, higher loot drops, and slowed item durability.

These difficulty settings can be selected when creating a new server or game, allowing players to tailor their experience to their preferred level of challenge.

Official Server Types and Resets

In addition to the difficulty modes, Stunlock Studios has unveiled a variety of official server types, each with its own reset timer and gameplay features. These include PvE and PvP servers with varying squad sizes, raid schedules, and loot rules, catering to different playstyles and preferences. The official servers will reset based on their listed time, with the developers planning to create new servers approximately halfway through each reset timer.

As V Rising prepares for its official launch on Wednesday, May 8, the game’s transition from early access to full release promises an exciting new chapter for both veteran players and newcomers alike. With the introduction of difficulty modes, server resets, and a wealth of new content, the world of Vardoran is poised to offer an even more immersive and challenging vampire survival experience.
