Brad Pitt leads an all-star cast in a groundbreaking film that blends fiction with real F1 action

Hollywood is teaming up with Formula One for an epic new movie. “F1” pairs big-name actors like Brad Pitt with the fast cars and bigthrills of Grand Prix racing. It’s directed by Joseph Kosinski, the guy who made “Top Gun: Maverick.”

The movie comes out worldwide next summer on June 25th. It promises to feel very real about what Formula One is really like. A lot of work went into making sure even small details look accurate.

Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired racing star who comes back to mentor a younger driver. That driver is played by Damson Idris, known for the TV show “Snowfall.” Their characters race for a fictional team owned by Javier Bardem’s character. The story follows their ups and downs on and off the track.

Idris was blown away by working with such famous actors. He said being in scenes with Pitt and Bardem left him shaking! The racing parts were also super intense. Idris had to spend 45 minutes in the car at a time, sweating like crazy by the end.

What makes this movie different is how it filmed real Formula One events. Crews shot at famous tracks in England, Hungary, Belgium and Italy. They had to work fast around practice and qualifying sessions. This lets the movie feel just like you’re really there at a Grand Prix weekend.

The director said it was tricky getting Brad Pitt and Damson Idris to drive the race cars on camera during live races. Special cameras and rigs had to be designed with Mercedes and Sony tech. This should give audiences an even more exciting view than his other hit “Top Gun 2.”

Even Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is involved! He’s a producer to help the movie look as accurate as possible. The cast and filmmakers have gotten to know the real pit crews and racing insiders too.

With stars like Pitt, Idris, Bardem and others, “F1” is sure to excite audiences this time next year. Between Hollywood and racing world experts, it just might be the best sports flick yet!
