Get ready for an epic true crime drama coming to Peacock this September 5th. “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” tells the wild story behind a brazen robbery in 1970s Atlanta.
The series is based on the hit iHeart podcast of the same name. It takes place during Muhammad Ali’s famous comeback fight against Jerry Quarry in 1970. While Ali was giving Quarry the ol’ one-two in the ring, some crooks were pulling off a huge heist at the afterparty!
You won’t believe who’s playing the mastermind behind it all – comedian Kevin Hart takes on the role of “Chicken Man”. With a cast that also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, and Taraji P. Henson, this show is loaded with big stars.
The preview clip looks amazing. It really makes you feel like you’re back in the 1970s with the outfits and music. Police think Chicken Man is the one behind the whole operation. But is he really guilty? We’ll have to tune in to find out!
Behind the crime plot, the show explores how Atlanta was changing at the time. It was becoming a capital for Black culture, nicknamed the “Black Mecca.” Created by Shaye Ogbonna, who worked on the popular show “The Chi,” “Fight Night” dives into themes of race, power and justice.
With its mixture of true events, famous faces and an eye on history, “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” has all the makings of a must-watch show. Mark your calendars for September 5th to see this thrilling limited series that’s sure to be the talk of Peacock!
