Are you ready for an even scarier sequel? In a Violent Nature 2 was just announced at a horror movie panel, and it sounds like fans of the first film are in for an epic fright fest.
The first In a Violent Nature came out this year and totally blew people away. It told the story from the killer’s point of view, which was super original. Now the companies behind it, IFC Films and Shudder, say they’re bringing back the terrifying slasher Johnny for more mayhem.
Scott Shooman from AMC Networks hinted at what’s to come. He said the sequel will escalate the fear and excitement people loved in the original. “The first movie showed us that horror fans still want new scary ideas. We know Johnny became a favorite villain fast, and are thrilled audiences want to see him again.”
Producer Peter Kuplowsky revealed they always planned for Johnny’s rampage to continue. “The first movie was meant to set up more stories. I’m stoked we get to follow Johnny’s crazy adventures again thanks to IFC Films and Shudder backing the director’s wild vision.”
It sounds like In a Violent Nature 2 will one-up the terrifying thrills of the first. While details are secret for now, the same writer and director Chris Nash are returning. Pictures from the panel got people buzzing too.
Horror fans know the first movie was a box office and critical smash. It made over $4 million and has a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Writer Will Sayre called it “Gory and artsy, with a killer hook” that scared both movie and horror buffs.
Now In a Violent Nature 2 aims to scare your socks off with even gnarlier kills and mayhem, ensuring Johnny stays as chilling a villain as ever. The first movie will also stream on Shudder starting in September 2024, so get ready to reminisce before the sequel’s new scares arrive. A fresh force in horror has begun – will you withstand Johnny’s violent nature twice?
