Terrifier 3 Promises Blood-Soaked Christmas Horror

The upcoming slasher film “Terrifier 3” is set to push boundaries of on-screen gore when it releases this Halloween season. Directed by Damien Leone, the third movie in the “Terrifier” franchise continues the story of Art the Clown, a murderous villain who targets siblings Sienna and Jonathan Shaw.

The film will see Art dressed as a twisted Santa Claus, committing violent acts of terror during the Christmas season. A recently released trailer shows Art creating disturbing “snow angels” in pools of blood. Sienna and Jonathan hoped to move past the trauma of the earlier films but must now face Art during the holidays.

Many of the original cast is returning, including David Howard Thornton as Art, Lauren LaVera as Sienna, and Elliot Fullam as Jonathan. The film will also feature cameo appearances from well-known actors in the horror genre like Tom Savini, Chris Jericho, and Jason Patric. These cameos add more star power to the independently produced movie.

In an interview, Thornton said one scene in particular affected him deeply while filming. “I almost vomited. It was really graphic and intense,” he stated. The extreme violence and practical gore effects the series is known for will likely continue to divide audiences but attract dedicated horror fans.

The low-budget “Terrifier” became a surprising box office hit, making over $15 million after costing just $250,000 to produce. “Terrifier 3” now has a $2 million budget, showing the franchise’s growing financial success. If previous installments are a guide, this new movie aims to deliver an unflinching holiday-themed story with shocking scenes that push boundaries.

“Terrifier 3” will premiere at the Fantastic Fest film festival on September 19, 2024 before its wide theatrical release on October 11, 2024. Horror enthusiasts should mark their calendars for what promises to be one of the most disturbing genre films of next year.
