Whitney Peak’s Eye for an Eye Lands U.K. and Ireland Release Deal

Signature Entertainment has secured U.K. and Irish distribution rights for Colin Tilley’s body-horror thriller Eye for an Eye, starring Whitney Peak, from HanWay Films, in a deal unveiled by The Hollywood Reporter. The acquisition follows the film’s selling at last October’s American Film Market, where HanWay represented international rights and WME handled domestic sales.

The feature marks music-video veteran Colin Tilley’s directorial debut. Peak leads as Anna opposite Emmy winner S. Epatha Merkerson, Bridgerton’s Golda Rosheuvel, Finn Bennett and newcomer Laken Giles, all brought together under a screenplay by Elisa Victoria and Michael Tully.

Founded in London in 2011 by Marc Goldberg, Signature Entertainment has grown into a leading independent distributor, releasing over 1,000 titles in the U.K. and Ireland, from Timothée Chalamet’s A Rainy Day in New York to Liam Neeson’s The Ice Road. The company also operates a production arm, Signature Films, and frequently partners with U.S. outfits, most recently Ley Line Entertainment—producers of Everything Everywhere All at Once—to back risk-taking genre projects.

In the U.S., Vertical Entertainment acquired rights in May 2025, scheduling a theatrical and on-demand bow on June 20, pairing timely release strategies with digital platforms. Eye for an Eye immerses audiences in Florida’s swampy backdrops, where Anna, reeling from her parents’ sudden death, moves in with her estranged grandmother and becomes entangled in a supernatural revenge cursed by the vengeful “Mr. Sandman”.

The deal arrives amid a resurgence of horror in the U.K., where genre attendance among 18- to 25-year-olds recently climbed to 20–22 percent of box-office share, outperforming several other categories. Industry insiders note that horror’s lean budgets and strong social-media buzz, especially around visceral body-horror subgenres, continue to draw younger audiences back into cinemas.
