Squid Game season 2

There was quite a boom with the arrival of “Squid game” on Netflix. This Korean series, which was created by Hwang Dong Hyuk, quickly took the place of “Bridgerton” and “Money Heist” (which would have its Asian version) as the most popular series in the platform’s history. Now, on the back of the massive success it was able to achieve, the streaming giant has officially announced the second season of its drama starring Lee Jung Jae.

This announcement came along with an exciting teaser trailer. There was also a letter from Dong Hyuk to his loyal fans, in which he revealed important details about the sequel to “Squid game”. As previously announced, Gi Hun will return to the plot, possibly seeking revenge.

Also returning, which for now is in the realm of probabilities, is that of actor Gong Yoo, who we knew as the character in the ddakji game.

While the text also previews that we will see Cheol Su, the boyfriend of Young Hee, the scary doll who made the song “Red Light, Green Light” famous from the first challenge we saw the competitors play. Not only that, but we’ll also have the Frontman back in the story. Whether the policeman Hwang Jun Ho will join this second part, however, has not been detailed.

As you may recall, Jun Ho went undercover in the game to search for his missing brother, who happened to be the Frontman. At the moment of discovering the truth, the latter attempted to convince the former to work together, but he failed and ended up shooting the officer, but he might still be alive, since it was not seen where his body is.

For the moment, that is all the details that Netflix has shared, and they have not revealed the release date of the title. Nevertheless, it is possible that they point to a potential release for 2023 or even 2024, but shooting is expected to start soon.
