Some screenshots and footage from the upcoming remake of The Last of Us have surfaced online. According to the person who posted the footage, the game will not have gameplay improvements, but only a refreshed audiovisual overlay.

As reported by VGC, the leaks were posted on the popular Reddit forum, but the thread was later deleted. The content of the original post was saved by users of the ResetEra forum. As we can discover, in the remake we will not be experiencing refreshed gameplay.

Instead, the changes are mainly visual and involve the addition of new sounds and animations to the game. This title is supposed to offer two graphics modes on consoles: 40 frames per second in native 4K or 60 frames per second with dynamic resolution scaling to 4K. The game supports variable refresh rates.

Additionally, as Joel upgrades his weapons, we will see new additions to them. Also attached to the post are a number of screenshots, showing a comparison of parts of the game in the original release and the remake.

The game will also have new accessibility features taken from the Last of Us Part 2, according to the leaker. Twitter user nicknamed Bloodborne (PC) Daily Dose also uploaded a short video, which shows one of the prologue scenes recreated in the new release.

Titled The Last of Us Part 1, the remake of the cult production will be released on PS5 on the 2nd of September this year. There are also plans for a port to PC, although no release date for that edition has been announced at this point.
