An open beta of the mobile installment in the Battlefield series has begun. For now the publisher has decided to launch tests in five countries.
According to the VGC website, players in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singaupur are able to join the fun at the moment.
But we can expect the title to hit Europe soon, since the product card in the Google Play store has already been translated into Polish.
At the moment, almost all classic gameplay modes, like conquest, Assault and team deathmatch, will be available in the test version.
Maps include refreshed locations from Battlefield 3: The Canals of Noushahr and the Grand Bazaar. The players are divided into traditional character classes, rather than the new specialist system from Battlefield 2042.
While the title will be available to download for free, there will be micropayments in the game. As announced, there will be only cosmetic items available for purchase, giving players no advantage during gameplay.
We’ll also get the opportunity to purchase a Battle Pass, which is independent of the rewards system in the console versions of the game.
Let’s recall that this is not the first time the Battlefield series tries its hand at mobile platforms. Back in 2010, iOS device owners could play a mobile port of Bad Company 2, where the single player campaign complemented the storyline of the game’s basic release.
In turn, in 2012, tests began for the spin-off Battlefield 3: Aftershock, which, though, was cancelled due to very negative player feedback.
