In its entire history, the world of DC comics has continuously battled with Marvel. Sometimes one is on top, and another time the next, and then time and again we are back to the starting point. To those who mainly associate the two publishers with cinema screens, this might come as no small surprise, we realize.

After all, the world of Spider-Man or Captain America is the one that appears to have been the king in this field almost from the very beginning. Nevertheless, this is purely a matter of full-length works – there is a lot more competition not just in comic books, but also in animated series or even video games. And this is exactly the topic we would like to discuss in today’s article.

Let’s take a look at video games from the Detective Comics universe, which are worth mentioning. This is because it’s a fact that a great number of them have been released in recent decades. What follows is that we will introduce you to ten of the ones that we consider to be the best. Not only should those who are familiar with the world of comics know these titles, but simply everybody who likes good video games.

After all, this is how these games can be described – they are quite simply extremely successful projects. Let’s, without further ado, get to the list itself, and you guys let us know which of the following titles is your favorite in the comments section.

10- LEGO DC Super-Villains

Mixing the worlds of comic books and LEGO comes with a fantastic story behind it – it virtually always works out and proves to be a hit. This was no different in the case of the title, in which we could get to know more about… Antagonists from the DC universe.

For sure, while it was not the best project in partnership with popular blockbusters, there is no shadow of doubt in our minds that it is impossible to pass by it indifferently.

9- DC Universe Online

At first, this was a dream realized by many fans – after all, everybody is dreaming about an MMORPG from the universe of the comic book world. In this case, this is what we got. It’s downside? Things certainly didn’t turn out the way they should have.

The upside? Nevertheless, there were many fans who have been hanging out on the servers for years. This is a must-have for fans of Batman, Superman and company – something we are sure you’ll enjoy.

8- Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

When we are talking about superheroes, there is no way to miss a brawl! Of course, one of the two which we would like to share with you on this list is Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The excellent crossover that hardly anyone expected, but which many welcomed with open arms.

This is most definitely not a textbook example of the genre, with very little potential for eSports here, but… you should definitely still try it.

7- Gotham City Impostors

We’ll smoothly move on to the least associated title in the entire list. Again, we might start by noting that this first-person shooter (FPS) deserved much more. First of all, for more fine-tuning on the part of the developers, secondly, for improved marketing, and finally, for more filled servers.

The game is unlike anything else, while undoubtedly worth checking out if only for that reason. I mean, just have a look at the trailer above!

6- Batman: The Telltale Series

For those fans of the Jack who are most fond of the story layer in his stories, this title could be the best one. The Telltale Games made an adventure game in its style, in which we got to know a slightly different incarnation of Batman, albeit definitely an interesting one.

Furthermore, the story itself is incredibly entertaining. You will definitely find it hard to tear yourself away after you have gotten into the tangled alleys of the case.

5- Batman (NES)

This is the oldest entry in the entire list, but it is one that should definitely be included here. In this day and age, could it still compete with current video game standards? No way – not in terms of control convenience or graphics, that’s for sure.

However, it has a touch of magic that gives you a Batman-like feel. Not entirely sure what influences this, but one thing is certain: the developers have left a piece of heart here.

4- LEGO Batman Trilogy

There goes another LEGO-related title! And this time a whole trilogy of games all about Batman – each better than the other. Each installment of the series truly offers fantastic fun, lots of characters from the universe, and brilliantly designed game boards, all of which are best enjoyed in co-op.

These days it’s a bit more clunky, but they’re still solid titles. However, there is no denying that we would give up a lot for a refresh.

3- Injustice: Gods Among Us 2

To be honest, I’ll admit that I’m a little closer to Marvel than DC in my heart. In fact, I’ve always been envious of the latter for such a capably tailored brawler. As I said, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was truly successful, while in this case we can talk about a genuine breakthrough hit.

Following the excellently received first part, the task in front of the developers was to at least come close in quality. And you guessed it – they even managed to top it.

2- The Wolf Among Us

A second item from Telltale Games – and this time it is much better encoded in the minds of gamers. An excellent title, while for many the best thing that, in terms of the story itself, the renowned studio has released for us.

Meanwhile, we are talking about a really successful project, the sequel to which many people are looking forward to with blisters on their faces. This is because, whatever way you look at it, we have managed to become accustomed to the characters themselves.

1- Batman: Arkham series

This is probably no surprise, huh? It seems to us that literally everyone will agree with the thesis that the Arkham series games featuring the Batman are the best ones we’ve had from the DC universe.

Moreover, we suspect that there are as many people, as many opinions, concerning which one of them should be considered the most perfect one. This is why we chose to include literally the entire series here – it’s a powerful brand.

So what do you think about this list of top DC Universe games? Which games do you think deserved a place in this list? Let us know in the comments section below.
