Tom Henderson has returned with a minor update on Sony’s new hardware model. A device is already being tested and, according to trusted sources, solutions introduced by Japanese engineers do not disappoint. It is most likely that we will hear officially about the new idea soon.

Back in September, a prominent industry insider leaned on the topic of the next iteration of the PlayStation 5, with his reports confirmed by an editorial.

A model would feature a detachable drive, available for purchase in addition or as a bundle. While the hardware would not see any changes in specifications (more powerful components), making the change would affect its overall appearance and slim down the overall body. Latest information indicates that the testing phase is going well.

Small update on the PlayStation 5 that has a detachable disc drive – I've heard from two people now that the test kit is in people's hands and it "works flawlessly". We should hear more about it officially soon.https://t.co/2rzlDrjYAb

Tom Henderson has shared more news and confirmed that the console is being tested and everything is moving in the right direction for the new PlayStation 5 to be shown to the gaming community in the near future.

“A small update regarding the PlayStation 5 with detachable drive – I’ve already heard from two people that the test set is in people’s hands and “works flawlessly”. We should officially hear more about it soon.”

We will have to wait for more details, however, but it seems possible that in early 2023, the Sony authorities would like to share the good news and present a refreshed PlayStation 5. the console would reportedly hit the market as early as the second half of next year.
