Project Zero/Fatal Frame series is getting a second youth. A publisher is regularly betting on re-releases of the acclaimed Asian horror series based on confronting ghosts.
Another remaster, Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, which tells the story of three teenagers returning to a mysterious island to solve the mystery of their friends’ deaths, will hit Nintendo Switch on March 22.
Tecmo Koei, known for frequent re-releases, is no different this time. Originally, it was announced that the game will only be released digitally, though not in all regions.
Instead, this game will be released in a boxed version in Asia. However, to fans who appreciate the game’s presence on the shelf, the Asian market release will support an English cinematic language version, thus interested players will have to import the title from Asia.
Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is a refresh of the base version of the game released in 2008 for the Nintendo Wii.
It’s the next installment after Project Zero: Maiden of the Black Water, which is coming to Nintendo Switch in a streamlined version.
If you preorder the title before March 22, you’ll receive an additional outfit from the Dead or Alive series, which will dress the main character, Ruka.
It has not been confirmed at the moment whether the boxed version will get codes for Deluxe Edition content (digital artbook, soundtrack and Rogetsu Isle Dinner Party character skins).
