The Outer Worlds, the popular space RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, is getting a next-gen upgrade in the form of The Walker’s Choice Edition.
The new edition promises significant gameplay and graphics improvements, including all previously released add-ons, enhanced visuals, new animations, and an increased hero level cap.
Console owners will be able to enjoy the game in 60 frames and 4K resolution, with Dualsense controller support and shortened loading screens on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. However, players who already own the basic edition of the game with add-ons will have to pay an extra $9.99 to upgrade to the enhanced version.
While some players may find the upgrade disappointing compared to the free next-gen update for The Witcher 3, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is still a great option for those who haven’t played the game before. The original game was released in 2019 to critical acclaim, and the upcoming official sequel has already been announced.
The Walker’s Choice Edition will be available for PC and current-gen consoles on March 7 for $59.99. Despite the extra cost for existing players, the refreshed edition is expected to bring new life to the beloved RPG with improved visuals and gameplay.
