Responding to a query on Twitter about whether the game would offer a co-op mode, the studio confirmed that Spider-Man 2 is envisioned as an exclusive single-player game, extinguishing any hopes of co-op adventuring.

The succinct reply from Insomniac read, “Nope! It is an epic single-player adventure!” This clarification may disappoint those who had imagined teaming up with a friend to swing through the skyscrapers of Manhattan. A cooperative mode might have seemed plausible, given that two Spider-Man characters—Miles Morales and Peter Parker—are featured in the game.

This news from Insomniac may come as a surprise to some, as it contradicts hints dropped by Nadji Jeter, the voice actor for Miles in the game. During a panel at SacAnime Summer 2022, Jeter teased that a co-op feature might be in the pipeline. However, it now appears that these speculations were off the mark.
