Although this week may be slightly quieter than previous weeks, we have some promising new releases to look forward to. Whether you’re a fan of strategy, adventure, or shooters, there’s something for everyone.

Highlight of the Week – Age of Wonders 4 – May 2, 2023

The much-awaited Age of Wonders 4 is the highlight of the week’s premieres. This latest installment in the popular turn-based 4X strategy game series set in a fantasy world promises to be exceptional and could be one of the best games of the month.

Opencritic has already published numerous glowing reviews for the game, and the average rating stands at 84%. Fans are eagerly awaiting the latest offering from Triumph Studio, and it looks like it’s going to be another triumph.

Major Releases on Steam: May 1-7

May 1

City of Beats

City of Beats is a unique combination of a shooter, rhythm game, and roguelike mechanics set in a cyberpunk city. Players will need to battle hordes of enemies to the beat of the music, adding a new dimension to the gameplay.

In. The Refugees: Ticket to Europe

We. The Refugees: Ticket to Europe is a visual novel adventure game and RPG that tells the story of a writer collecting materials for a book about refugees from Africa. To discover their fate, he pretends to be one of them and boards a boat crossing the Mediterranean Sea towards Europe.

May 2

Redfall

Redfall is an open-world FPS set on an island infested by vampires. Developed by Arkane, the studio behind the popular Deathloop, Prey, and Dishonored series, Redfall promises to be a unique and exciting experience. The trailers showcase the co-op mode, but solo players can also expect an engaging gameplay experience.

Showgunners

Showgunners is a turn-based tactical game where players lead a group of daredevils participating in a deadly futuristic television show. Developed by Artificer, founded by Kacper Szymczak – the main designer of Phantom Doctrine and Hard West – Showgunners has all the makings of an excellent turn-based game.

Frozen Shelter

Frozen Shelter is a first-person narrative adventure game set in an old Soviet bunker built during the Cold War. The protagonist becomes trapped in the facility during the evacuation of survivors from a deadly epidemic, and players must help them escape.

Silica

Silica is a promising hybrid of a shooter and real-time strategy game. The story is about humanity’s war with aliens for control over a planet rich in valuable resources. Players can control either side of the conflict. Bohemia Incubator developed the game, a subdivision of Bohemia Interactive that supports independent productions.

Tape to Tape

Tape to Tape is a humorous roguelike game that lets players lead a hockey team. Players need to recruit players, manage finances, and play matches in a comedy version of the 90s. The game features several unique abilities, including the ability to bribe referees.

May 4

Golden Idol Mysteries: The Spider of Lanka

Golden Idol Mysteries: The Spider of Lanka is an add-on to The Case of the Golden Idol, one of the best adventure games of 2022. The DLC offers a new case to solve, which takes place before the events of the base game, and promises to be just as engaging as the original.

Room of Depression

Room of Depression is an adventure game that follows the story of a depressed woman working in a big city office. Developed by FirePillar2 studio, which has already received praise for their game Craft In Abyss (89% positive reviews on Steam), this game promises to be a unique and emotional experience.

Mia and the Dragon Princess

Mia and the Dragon Princess is an interactive FMV film inspired by Asian action cinema, featuring Anna Buring from The Witcher series. Players can expect a thrilling and immersive experience in this genre-bending game.

Press Lex to Metaverx

Press Lex to Metaverx is a point-and-click comedy adventure where players control a lazy protagonist who inadvertently causes a catastrophe in the multiverse. The game offers a unique and entertaining storyline, and players will need to fix the mess before reality is destroyed.

Spiritless Ltd.

Spiritless Ltd. is an adventure game developed by two German developers, Roland Wejner and Robin Bretschneider. The game is set in a world inhabited by monsters, and players must play the role of an employee of a company specializing in cleaning houses from ghosts haunting them.
