Horror game enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer for their spine-tingling fix as THQ Nordic and Pieces Interactive announce a delay for the highly-anticipated Alone in the Dark reboot.
Originally set to unleash terror on October 25, 2023, the game’s new fright night will be on January 16, 2024. This chilling experience will be haunting PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC players on Steam and GOG.
In a spine-chilling press release, THQ Nordic explained their devilish strategy. They don’t want their game to compete with the massive release of Alan, a blockbuster game, or be overshadowed by the web-swinging adventures of Spider-Man.
So, Alone in the Dark will bide its time, lurking in the shadows until January 16, 2024. This extended wait serves a dual purpose: it allows the developers to meticulously perfect the horror experience and gives them the chance to dive into the remarkable games flooding the market in October.

Alone in the Dark is a love letter to its groundbreaking original, offering a haunting narrative through the eyes of two protagonists: Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood. This reimagined classic survival horror game combines psychological terror with Southern Gothic aesthetics. Players will explore eerie environments, battle monstrous foes, solve perplexing puzzles, and uncover the unsettling secrets hidden within Derceto Manor.
Set in the 1920s South, the game follows Emily Hartwood’s quest to find her missing uncle. Teaming up with private investigator Edward Carnby, they venture into the foreboding Derceto Manor, a mental institution with dark secrets.
