This particular version of Beyond Good & Evil 2 aligns with glimpses seen in previous clips released or leaked over the years. Ubisoft had even unveiled an early trailer featuring the game’s protagonist, Jade, and her companion, Uncle Pey’j, navigating a desert landscape.
The recent discovery comes from the design portfolio of animator Damien Barranco, who was a Ubisoft team member at the time. Barranco’s impressive resume also includes work on the original Beyond Good & Evil, Rayman 2, and Ubisoft’s King Kong adaptation.
Notably, he is even credited on the classic animated children’s BBC series, “The Animals of Farthing Wood,” showcasing his expertise in bringing animated worlds to life.
The newly surfaced video clip was shared on social media, offering fans their first significant look at the sequel’s third main character, Double H. In this snippet, Double H and Pey’J are depicted in a bar scene, with the anthropomorphic pig sharing a ribald joke.
While deciphering the exact content of the punchline may prove challenging, it adds an intriguing layer to the game’s narrative and character dynamics.
Last month, the internet buzzed with rumors of a 20th-anniversary edition of the original Beyond Good & Evil, slated for release in the United States. However, Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm the package’s details or its contents.
