Laurence Fishburne, the acclaimed actor known for his iconic roles in films like The Matrix and John Wick, is joining the cast of Netflix’s The Witcher, and the first set photos have been leaked, revealing his appearance and the character he will portray. As production continues on the fourth season of the hit fantasy series, fans have been eagerly awaiting the debut of Fishburne’s character, and these leaked images have finally provided a tantalizing first look.

In the set photos, obtained and shared by the YouTube channel UnBoxPHD, Fishburne can be seen sporting a distinctive look that may surprise audiences accustomed to his more modern on-screen personas. Donning long, graying hair and a medieval-style jerkin, Fishburne’s appearance is a departure from his usual roles, hinting at the depth and commitment he has brought to his portrayal of Regis, a character expected to play a major role in the final two seasons of The Witcher.

For those unfamiliar with the source material, Regis is a powerful vampire who becomes an unlikely ally to Geralt of Rivia (portrayed by Liam Hemsworth in the upcoming season) and his traveling companions on their perilous journey to rescue the enigmatic Ciri (Freya Allen). Despite his innate lust for blood, Regis is a recovering “blood-addict,” abstaining from drinking human blood and subsisting solely on the blood of animals. As a member of the Higher Vampires, a elite class of vampires renowned for their immense strength and abilities, Regis’s presence promises to add a formidable and intriguing dynamic to the show’s narrative.

While details about how Regis will be integrated into Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher remain scarce, the show’s creative team has faced criticism from fans for deviating from the source material in previous seasons. As such, there is speculation that Netflix’s interpretation of Regis could differ significantly from the character portrayed in the novels and video games.

Laurence Fishburne’s casting as Regis has been met with anticipation and excitement from the show’s dedicated fanbase. The actor’s talent and reputation for delivering captivating performances have raised hopes that his portrayal of the enigmatic vampire will be a standout addition to the series.

As The Witcher gears up for its fourth season, set to premiere in 2025, the leaked set photos have offered a tantalizing glimpse into the world fans can expect to immerse themselves in once again. With Fishburne’s Regis poised to play a pivotal role alongside Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt and the returning Freya Allen as Ciri, the upcoming season promises to deliver a fresh and compelling chapter in the beloved fantasy saga.
