MultiVersus is gearing up for its next major update, which will aim to address performance issues while also reintroducing the towering Iron Giant and rolling out fan-requested feature tweaks.
In a social media post, developer Player First Games laid out its near-term roadmap for enhancements to the crossover platform fighter. At the top of the list are promised performance improvements to provide a smoother gameplay experience across all platforms.
Several quality-of-life additions are also in the works based on community feedback. This includes end-of-match stat screens to review performance data as well as the ability to disable team color cosmetics. An unintended option to purchase extra lives mid-match has already been rectified.
Perhaps the most anticipated change is the imminent return of the Iron Giant, the gentle metal titan who was temporarily removed earlier this week. Player First acknowledged it is still actively working on rebalancing the character, who some viewed as offering an unfair competitive edge. However, the beloved robot will be implemented back into the roster “shortly” following additional refinements.
Greetings MVPs – we’re working hard on updates for #MultiVersus. Here’s a sample of what’s currently planned for upcoming patches based on your feedback:
Performance improvements
Inclusion of End of Game stats
Option to turn off team colors— MultiVersus (@multiversus) June 5, 2024
No specific timeline was provided for when these updates will begin rolling out to MultiVersus beyond the vague “upcoming patches” window. Player First has been actively expanding the game’s content since its re-launch last month following an open beta period.
New fighters like horror icon Jason Voorhees, The Matrix’s Agent Smith, and the Joker have joined the crossover roster. Additional game modes like Rifts have also been added, with the promise of reinstating features present during the original beta test.
As MultiVersus continues evolving its core experience, the game’s dedicated community undoubtedly welcomes the upcoming waves of performance optimizations, feature additions, and balanced character tweaks. The return of the Iron Giant is especially anticipated to restore the full crossover dream team of eccentric heroes and villains.
While no definitive release timing was provided, fans can expect these upgrade deployment across multiple upcoming patches as Player First Games looks to refine the overall MultiVersus gameplay experience.
